Falafel Burgers

Sometimes I just have to tap into my Lebanese roots. Simple.

1 (15.5 oz) can chick peas
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Bill Bragg’s amino acids
1 egg, or substitute
1/4 white onion, diced
spray coconut oil

1. open can of chick peas–drain and rinse
2. dice onions, set aside
3. place the chick peas along the seasonings and egg in the food processor
4. pulse until almost smooth
5. place the patty dough into a medium mixing bowl
6. add the onions to the dough and mix well with hands
7. shape into balls and press gently with the palm of your hand, thus creating a patty
8. place your raw patties on a plate
9. on a large pan sprayed with coconut oil, fry your patties on medium heat for about 5 minutes each side
10. serve with a drizzle of tahini and some more for dipping
11. garnish with sesame seeds

* These go well wrapped in lettuce/cabbage leaves.
